    Description

This ad from the December 1962 issue of
    Life Magazine
promotes the stylish Mercury Monterey Custom S-55.  With a "Fresh idea, fresh roof, fresh air" design, its introducing the Breezeway rear window: a power operated, recessed rear window that can be slightly lowered to allow air flow-thru - fresh air in, stale, smoky air out.  It was the newest concept to keep the interior air clean, even if someone was smoking.  The ad is a unique departure from car ads of the day that promoted style, luxury interiors, speed, performance and safety features.  Promoting only one feature - the flow-thru rear window, Ford took a chance on such an ad to sell the Monterey.  The colorful ad is a great one - no tears, marks, fading, or creases, and it's ready to preserve with matting and a frame.  It measures 10 1/4" x 13 1/2" and comes from a smoke free, pet free home.   It will be shipped in a protective plastic sleeve with cardboard support.  Thanks for looking.    128
