This is an antique, brass metal, bracelet which was worn and used as currency by the Tuareg tribal people for trading / buying transactions in Mali, Africa. This brass primitive money currency specimen is in great overall antique tribally used condition with slight wear and patina. Currency bracelets & anklets served as indications of wealth and were used to store finances, pay for dowries and buy or trade for livestock and goods. This is an amazing example and a perfect piece to add to any advanced African currency collection or for personal adornment.This currency specimen has an outer circumference of 7.50 inches and an inner circumference of 6.35 inches.The most common forms of traditional money in Africa were made of metal, either forged or cast.
