  • Condition: See Photos. This detector is crazy rare. I found one photo from 1949 on a website that documents the history of these devices. The alarm would go off when gamma radiation was detected. I'm fresh out of gamma radiation so I don't know if it works :-I. Small and was expected to be worn on your hip/belt. One knob is missing. Great old patina. I have not opened it up via the screws on the side. Dug this out of a garage from an estate sale here in North Carolina. Museum piece? Serial 68062. South Pasadena, California. Seller Lot #1630.

    See Photos.  This detector is crazy rare.  I found one photo from 1949 on a website that documents the history of these devices.  The alarm would go off when gamma radiation was detected.  I'm fresh out of gamma radiation so I don't know if it works :-I.   Small and was expected to be worn on your hip/belt.  It sold for 2.50 in 1951.  One knob is missing.  Great old patina.  I have not opened it up via the screws on the side.  Dug this out of a garage from an estate sale here in North Carolina.  Museum piece?  Serial 68062.  South Pasadena, California.  Seller Lot #1630.
