    Description

Two pages removed from a cigar box label sample book published by the American Lithographic Company. Both are titled Hendrick Hudson. One is sub-titled Discoverer of the Hudson, with a central portrait of Henry Hudson, a view of New York City on the left and his ship sailing in the Hudson River on the right. On the back is another portrait of Hudson and a sample Hendrick Hudson cigar band. On the right edge of the front is a glue stain from where something was removed. There is a short repaired tear bottom center.
The second sheet shows Hudson's ship in the river with a related oval label attached. On the back some of the central image shows through. In good condition.
Both sheets approximately 6 by 8 inches and copyrighted in 1908 to be ready in time for the celebration in 1909 of the 300th anniversary of Hudson's discovery of the river.
