"FINEST IN THE FLEET ~ USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19)"
Color home movie footage filmed aboard the Command & Control Ship "USS Blue Ridge" on a Westpac Cruise in the early 1970s --  with stops in Okinawa and Yokosuka, and extensive footage of VERTREP and CONREP operations.
You'll see scenes filmed aboard the ship at sea and approaching the dock in Okinawa -- panning footage of the Naval  Base, brief views of the port at Yokosuka and the old pre-Dreadnought Battleship Mikasa permanently moored there. At sea you'll watch  replenishment operations with other ships and helicopters -- USS Mispillion (AO-105), USS Guadalupe (AO-32), USS Mobile (LKA-115), USS  Schenectady (LST-1185), and others. There are deck shots of the Blue Ridge and great footage of the ships alongside her.
    Other footage includes:
    ~H-54 landing and take-off
    ~CH-46 VERTREP
    ...and more!
    Running Time: 44 minutes
Includes a soundtrack from 1970s AFRTS Radio Programs.
