Description

Great art by Alfred Mailick (1869-1946), who was the most sought after post card artist in all of Europe. At the height of his fame, he even produced a few cigar labels, a few of which he was allowed to sign. Although this one is unsigned, the companion label that went with it was signed, and his style is fairly obvious.
What is most amazing is that this is a steel engraving and Mailick was best known for stone litho. This was produced as steel engraving was dying out, so he probably wanted to show his diversity. Includes certificate of authenticity. Refer to scans for condition. Approximate size: 6” x 8”.
